FAZILKA: Akali MP Sher Singh Ghubaya’s son Davinder Singh Ghubaya (25), the Congress candidate from Fazilka Assembly constituency, filed nomination papers before Returning Officer-cum-SDM Vinod Kumar Bansal here today.

Fazilka, January 16

Akali MP Sher Singh Ghubaya’s son Davinder Singh Ghubaya (25), the Congress candidate from Fazilka Assembly constituency, filed nomination papers before Returning Officer-cum-SDM Vinod Kumar Bansal here today.

Davinder was accompanied by PPCC chief spokesperson Sunil Jakhar and Guruharsahai MLA Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi.

Later, he addressed a rally in the local Ghas Mandi. Davinder said they (his family) were humiliated by the SAD leadership, but the Congress had honoured them. It is learnt that Akali workers from Jalalabad and Fazilka were present during the rally.

Meanwhile, Ghubaya Senior was spotted near the office of the Returning Officer when his son went to file papers. He had a brief meeting with Congress leaders and party workers near the rally venue. He was seen giving a hug to Jakhar. When contacted, Sher Singh said he was an Akali, but was supposed to guide his young son who was contesting the election for the first time.
