PATIALA: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s brothers-in-law - former Union Minister Natwar Singh and Major Kanwaljit Singh Dhillon – attended the cremation, along with their sons.

  • Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s brothers-in-law -- former Union Minister Natwar Singh and Major Kanwaljit Singh Dhillon – attended the cremation, along with their sons. The CM’s grandsons, Nirvan Singh, Angad Singh and Yaduinder Singh, were also present.
  • Cutting across party lines, several political leaders expressed condolences and paid floral tributes. They included Patiala MP Dharamvira Gandhi, Apna Punjab Party president Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief Simranjit Singh Mann, SAD MLAs Parminder Singh Dhindsa and NK Sharma and Trinamool Congress Punjab unit leader Jagmeet Singh Brar.
  • Rajmata’s funeral procession, which started from Moti Bagh Palace, passed through the streets of Patiala. Huge crowds gathered to pay last respects to her.
  • Many public schools either declared a holiday or advanced timings to enable their staff to attend the cremation.
  • On Tuesday evening, state BJP unit chief Vijay Sampla met Amarinder at Moti Bagh, even as AAP leader HS Phoolka issued a condolence message.
