Chandigarh, April 29
Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development to rationalise the property prices fixed by development authorities across the state, including GMADA, GLADA and PUDA, and ensure maximum participation of buyers.
The CM, who is also the chairman of various development authorities, observed that genuine buyers had been unable to buy property offered for sale by the department. Reasonable prices would facilitate the availability of high-quality houses and plots in the state, said Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Vini Mahajan.
She said the orders implied that the authorities concerned would ensure a good response before the property was offered for sale through auction or draw of lots.
“The department is also in the process identifying new sites for development,” Mahajan added. — TNS
