Chandigarh, November 17
Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday launched a state-of-the-art cloud-based National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) through video conferencing, enabling online registration at the sub-registrar offices of Moga and Adampur.
Besides, the Electronic Total Station (ETS) progamme will be launched in five districts — Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, SAS Nagar. It aims at simplifying the complex process of land demarcation.
In the video conferencing, the CM directed the commissioners and DCs that he expected the revenue administration to provide fair, transparent and responsive governance. The officers were asked to clear all cases in revenue courts, pending for over a year, before March 31, 2018.
Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Housing & Urban Development, and Revenue and Rehabilitation, said the launch of NGDRS in two offices would pave the way for its rollout throughout the state.
Besides being an online interface for citizens to enter data related to registration and uploading of documents 24X7, the NGDRS would enable automatic calculation of stamp duty, registration and other fees based on collector rates and also reduce dependency on deed writers etc.
