Rs25 lakh seized in Lambi

Lambi, January 18

The Kabarwala police today seized Rs 25 lakh in the denomination of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 from a car during a “naka” at Alamwala village on the Malout-Fazilka road in the Lambi Assembly segment.

The police said two persons were in the vehicle and the cash was kept in the trunk. It added that those carrying the cash could not produce any document, but one of them introduced himself as Ashok Malhotra, Manager, Punjab National Bank, Korianwali village in Fazilka.

Meanwhile, the police informed the seizure to the Income Tax officials.
