SAD-BJP leaders meet Guv, gun for Khaira

Chandigarh: A delegation of the SAD-BJP, led by Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday met Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore and submitted a memorandum, seeking the removal of AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira from the post of Leader of the Opposition. Briefing the Governor, Sukhbir said Khaira had been summoned as an accused in a drug case. The AAP leader's request to get the order set aside by the HC was also turned down, he said. The alliance submitted that Khaira had brought a bad name to the chair after being named as an accused in a cross-border drug smuggling case. TNS
