Rajpura, August 11

Five days after the Rajpura police booked Gau Raksha Dal chief Satish Kumar for rioting and extortion, one of the victims, hailing from Saharanpur, today told a judicial magistrate here that after being robbed off Rs 1 lakh, he was sexually assaulted by one of Satish’s henchmen.

The statement, made under Section 164 of the CrPC, has been placed in a sealed cover. The victim claimed he was forcibly taken to Satish's cow shelter in Rajpura, stripped naked and sexually assaulted by one of the gang members. "Satish then pissed in my mouth and severely beat me up even as I begged for mercy.

"Usually, they would take money and let us go. But this time they were brutal," the 25-year old victim, who decided to approach the police after reading in newspapers that his tormentors had been booked, said. (The Tribune has a copy of the statement.)

When contacted, Patiala SSP Gurmeet Chauhan said he was yet to receive the statement from the court. “We will add the relevant Sections in the FIR accordingly,” he said. Based on the victim's statement, Section 377 of the IPC which criminalises 'unnatural' sexual contact, including acts of homosexuality, could be slapped on the accused. Those who abetted the crime could be charged under Section 120 (B).

The Gau Raksha Dal chief and his men were booked after the police obtained videos of attacks on drivers of trucks carrying cattle. None of the accused have been arrested yet.
