The SGPC has raised objections over the alleged distortion of vocabulary related to Sikhism by Congress leaders during their rallies. It contemplates to submit the matter to Akal Takht for further action.

According to the SGPC, Navjot Singh Sidhu distorted a Sikh verse during a rally in Amritsar recently.

Also, objections are being raised by the SGPC over some Congress leaders comparing Capt Amarinder Singh with “Mard Agamra” (man without any parallels) during a rally at Fatehgarh Sahib.

SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar said the Congress had been deliberately using such distorted words to hurt Sikh sentiments. “Sidhu had committed a blasphemous act earlier too. This will not be tolerated. We have referred the matter to Akal Takht for further action,” he said.

Phoolka, too, finds fault with Capt, Sidhu

Jalandhar: AAP Dakha candidate HS Phoolka on Sunday accused PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh of vitiating the state’s atmosphere by comparing himself with the 10th Sikh Guru by using the term “Mard Agamra”. Accusing Amarinder of hurting the Sikh sentiments, Phoolka said: “Everyone knows ‘Mard Agamra’ is used for Guru Gobind Singh. PPCC secretary Harbans Singh Pandher compared Amarinder with ‘Mard Agamra’ at the Fatehgarh Sahib rally.” Also taking on Navjot Singh Sidhu, Phoolka condemned his statement “Jab tak Congress bahaal na karaun, Sidhu naam na kahaun”, stating Sidhu’s faux pas was similar to that of SAD leader Bikram Majithia’s statement issued while campaigning for BJP leader Arun Jaitley during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.Meanwhile, advocate Navkiran Singh, convener, AAP’s human rights cell, has lodged a complaint with the ECI, terming Ayali’s claims of Phoolka being a partner in Noida Toll Plaza along with Jagdish Tytler as false and misleading.
