Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday said he was deeply affected by the fact that he was “not involved in the process” for elections to local bodies by the state government, especially in the elections to Municipal Corporations of Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar.

Speaking on the sidelines of the departmental review meeting, Sidhu said during the past one month, before or after the elections, he was not consulted. He claimed that he was not called for any discussion on the issue of election even at the party level in the past one month.

“I was not called properly before the election to the post of the mayor of Amritsar. That is why I did not attend the meeting,” Sidhu said.
