Chandigarh, February 27

In an apparent move to silence his detractors, former PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday took to social media platform ‘X’ to share his picture of meeting Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi.

Recently, there were reports in media about Sidhu leaving the Congress along with some former party MLAs to join the BJP after an interview on a regional channel showed him speak high of some top BJP leaders.

A few days ago, he had reposted a 2016 tweet along with his picture with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi that read, ‘met my mentor Rahul ji and friend, philosopher and guide Priyanka ji in New Delhi. You can jail me, intimidate me, block all my financial accounts, but my commitment for Punjab and my leaders will never flinch, nor back an inch’.

Though the cricketer-turned-politician has termed the reports as speculation, his detractors kept on adding fuel to the reports. The former PPCC chief was recently engaged in a war of words with PPCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa during the visit of Punjab affairs in-charge Devendra Yadav.
