Punjab’s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal appeared before a court on Friday in an assault case of 1999.

Badal pleaded not guilty before court, which will hear defence’s evidence on February 25. Prosecution has already provided their evidence to the court.

Badal was among the eight who were accused of assaulting a man called Naresh Sehgal on September 5, 1999, in Kotkapura, Faridkot. Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered police to book the eight for assault on June 30, 2006.
