PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today accused AAP leaders of trying to rake up issues that could disturb the hard-earned peace and prosperity of the state. He drew parallel between AAP’s strategy and Simranjit Singh Mann’s “Panthic” agenda.

The former CM targeted the opponents for allegedly circulating posters that could lead to divide on sectarian lines.

While AAP leaders denied any link with the posters, Amarinder saw the use of world “inquilab” as invocation of revolution that was attributed to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and as a motive to disturb peace in the state for political gains

On alliance with the SAD (Longowal), he said he had met members of the party. “They have to join the Congress before we move forward on the matter,” he said.

The PPCC chief, meanwhile, welcomed Punjabi singer Balkar Sidhu into party fold.

More artistes to join Cong: Sidhu

Balkar Sidhu claimed that more artistes would be joining the party. “Bhagwant Mann has been isolated. No one from the fraternity is with him,” he claimed.

Rabbi Shergill, though not a member of the party, is part of the expert committee set up Amarinder to prepare a paper on issues concerning Punjab.

‘SGPC should take up hate crime cases’

On rising racial attacks on Sikhs in the US, Amarinder said more than anybody else, it was the failure of the SGPC Dharam Prachar Committee which had neither done any work at home nor abroad.
