Ridiculing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that the Aam Aadmi Party was winning 107 out of 117 seats in 2017 Assembly polls, PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today compared the AAP with the People’s Party of Punjab (PPP), which was headed by Manpreet Badal before its merger with the Congress.

In a statement issued today, Amarinder said, “Like the PPP, the AAP will soon vanish into the thin air.”

However, the former CM praised Manpreet and said, “Manpreet Badal still had integrity and credibility to his credit and he was the son of the soil but Kejriwal lacks all these attributes”.

He pointed out that since 2014 when the AAP won four parliamentary seats, it had split vertically with two MPs already having revolted. Besides, the two byelections it contested, it forfeited the security deposit in both and after that it did not dare to contest any byelection.

Amarinder mocks SFJ complaint against AAP

Chandigarh: Capt Amarinder Singh today took a dig at the US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) over its complaint against the Aam Aadmi Party’s political programmes in Canada. Amarinder said AAP leaders had held political rallies in Canada in the past and nobody, including the SFJ, had complained against them at that time.

“This is just an afterthought by the anti-India group (SFJ) as I had questioned its silence on AAP holding similar functions in the past,” Amarinder said in a statement issued here today.

Jagmeet targets Capt over photos

Muktsar: Former CWC member Jagmeet Singh Brar, who was recently expelled from the Congress, on Friday criticised PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh for his photos —  which have gone viral on social media — in which the latter is reportedly seen with a Pakistani female friend. Brar said, “These photos have sent a message across the world that our leaders are so shameless and don’t even believe in legal weddings and their honourable wives. In all programmes abroad, this Pakistani lady is seen with Amarinder.” — TNS
