Stray bull claims biker’s life

Abohar: A motorcyclist, Pradeep Singh (23), of Jandwala village died on the spot as the motorcycle he was riding on collided with a stray bull that suddenly came in front of him on the Hanumangarh road on Thursday. OC

Man nabbed with 2-kg opium

Abohar: Daleep Singh of Kharakhera village was held under the NDPS Act as the Hanumangarh police on Thursday seized 2-kg opium from his possession by intercepting his car near the interstate border. The vehicle did not have the registration number plate. A court has allowed his custodial interrogation. OC

Villager electrocuted

Abohar: Mangal Singh (28) of Kamalwala Jhugge village on the Abohar-Ferozepur road was electrocuted as the iron rod that he was carrying for the construction of a house in Bishanpura village near Sriganganagar accidentally touched the electricity wire on Wednesday. OC

Child falls in tank, drowns

Abohar: An 18-month-old girl child Diksha got drowned as she slipped into an uncovered water tank outside her house in the Anupgarh segment in Sriganganagar on Wednesday. OC

Two youths found dead near canal

Abohar: The bodies of two youths, both Abohar residents, were found near the Gang (Bikaner) canal on the Abohar-Fazilka road on Thursday evening. Strips of sedative tablets, pouches and syringes were found near the bodies. The deceased have been identified as Shiv and Tarsem of Abohar. The bodies have been shifted to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem, which will be conducted on Friday. OC

Man booked for murdering wife

Abohar: A woman was murdered in Sriganganagar on Wednesday. Sandeep Kumar told the police that his father, Prahlad Meghwal (47), attacked his mother Savitri Devi (44) with an iron rod on the head under the influence of liquor. A case has been registered. In another case, Sonu, who got married to Sushant Jangid in 2014, was found dead at her in-laws’ house at Nohar near Hanumangarh. OC
