A month after a 13-year-old girl died after her alleged molesters threw her off the bus owned by Orbit Aviation, the Punjab and Haryana High Court was today told that there were 67 private operators or “contract carriage permit holders”.

The number of “stage carriage permit holders” with more than 10 permits was 64. They included Orbit Aviation and Dabwali Transport, in which the Badals had shares.

An affidavit filed before the court added that Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had more than 4.26 lakh shares while Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur owned just 10 shares. The case will now come up for hearing tomorrow.

The court on a previous date of hearing had made it clear that it would look into ownership and profits made during the past five years by Orbit Aviation, the transport company owned by the Badals.

Taking up the Moga molestation case, a Division Bench of the high court had also sought details of criminal cases registered against the stage carriage permit holders during the last year.

State Advocate-General Ashok Aggarwal was also directed to produce the FIR in the molestation case. The Bench had also asked the company to disclose the details of its shareholders and also produce balance sheets for the past five years. The Bench had also directed the state government to disclose the details of “contract carriage permit holders” and the share holdings of stage carriage permit holders with more than 10 permits.
