The Akal Takht is all set to summon the two Sikh groups who were involved in a group clash at Sikh Centre Gurdwara in Frankfurt (Germany) on Sunday.
They clashed over a programme by Punjab-based preacher Panthpreet Singh, who was invited by the Sikh Centre Gurdwara management.
Several Taksali (traditional thinkers) leaders of Germany and nearby European countries turned up at the venue and tried to interrupt the “Parchar samagam” programme. They contested that Panthpreet Singh had been distorting the original preaching of the Sikh panth.
When the members of the gurdwara management prevented them, it led to a clash between the two groups leading to tossing of turbans. Gauging the tense situation, the Frankfurt police had to enter the gurdwara to intervene and escort Panthpreet to safety zone.
Several video clippings of this fight had surfaced on the social media.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said it was quite unfortunate and shameful act that could not be ignored. He said several video clippings showing tossing of turbans and police entering the gurdwara with shoes had hurt the sentiments of the Sikhs.
