Two Jalandhar men held for peddling drugs; 1 kg opium seized

PHAGWARA: Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested on Tuesday with 1 kg opium from a check-post at Bhullarai crossing here, police said.

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested on Tuesday with 1 kg opium from a check-post at Bhullarai crossing here, police said.

The accused have been identified as Bhupinder Singh alias Bhindi and Goldy Virdi, both residents of Jalandhar.

The duo was arrested at the check-post on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road here when they were coming on a bike, police said.

A case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the duo, police said. PTI
