Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal said here today that the SAD-BJP alliance and the Congress were two sides of the same coin. “They have looted Punjab by turns. AAP is the only ray of hope for the state,” he said while addressing traders and industrialists.

He added that the Badals had left no stone unturned to please Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but “still failed to get even a single paisa from the Centre for development”. He promised that once AAP came to power, it would grab the state’s rightful share by confronting Modi and the NDA government.

He announced that AAP would not let the state-run thermal plants to shut down as it would make more than 10,000 employees jobless. On “goonda tax” in Punjab, he alleged that the owners of a Ludhiana-based bread factory had to shell out “Badal tax” on every loaf of bread.

Kejriwal was accompanied by Gurpreet Singh Waraich, Sanjay Singh, Bhagwant Mann and Kanwar Sandhu.

Jalandhar: Addressing local industrialists in the city, Kejriwal said he was ready to touch the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the cause of Punjab. But if that did not work, he was ready to fight for the state’s rights, he added.
