Green buildings to get extra FAR in UP

The UP government will be giving extra incentives to builders in order to promote the construction of green buildings.

The UP government will be giving extra incentives to builders in order to promote the construction of green buildings. The builders going the “green way” will be allowed five per cent extra floor area ratio (FAR) in areas more than 5,000 sq metre without any additional cost.

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)had raised a demand in this regard.

According to state government orders issued to development authorites, green buildings after every five years will have to present green norms fulfillment certificate to the development authority. The orders also permit extra FAR for ongoing construction on fulfillment of green norms.
