NAREDCO seeks Khattar’s intervention

A delegation of National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), the apex body of real estate sector, under the aegis of Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation,  recently met the Haryana Chief Minister and handed over a memorandum regarding problems being faced by the developers and colonisers in the state. The memorandum mentioned, “Real Estate sector in Haryana, which is facing serious impediments, hampering its growth in general because of lack of basic town level infrastructural facilities in the Urban Estates combined with some rigid and restrictive policies of the state government”.

One of the main issues in which the realtors body has sought the Chief Minister’s intervention is the release of fire safety clearance for projects that are almost complete or are nearing completion. According to NAREDCO President, Parveen Jain, “Haryana’s Fire department is not issuing NOCs even for the projects which had been duly approved by the authorities. As many as  10,000 apartments are affected by this and the buyers are not able to get possessions”.

Some other issues highlighted in the memorandum include removal of stamp duty on joint development agreement, fast movement in environmental clearance process, property tax, advertisement policy on buildings, use of labour cess, fast working on external infrastructure, water supply, sewerage, drainage, treatment plants etc”.

NAREDCO has also demanded that one of its members should be in the panel of Gurugram development authority and in RERA.

Jain said, “If these issues and problems being faced by the developers in the state are resolved, then there will be no stopping of development. Growth will become fast paced if departments like Town & Country Planning, Fire, Electrical, HUDA etc start working in consonance. The various issues and problems of the developers have been highlighted in the memorandum. Let’s hope for the best for the quick resolution of these issues.”
