AMBALA, Feb 9
The Congress has emerged as the strongest party, with an absolute majority, in the Punjab State Assembly elections, the results of which were completed today.
With the three seats captured by the Congress today, its strength has now reached 98 in the 126-member Assembly. If the two Independents from Kangra district, who have already announced their decision to join the Congress are included, the Congress strength will rise to 100, reducing the independents to four.
