CHANDIGARH, March 7 (PTI).
Giani Zail Singh, President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, said here today that the non-Congress Government would not last long in Punjab.
He said the non-Congress parties with different ideologies and sharp differences on major issues were ridden with communal and sectarian feelings."Ultimately, the Congress Party will have to form the Government in Punjab", he declared.
The P.P.C.C. chief said he was happy that the non-Congress parties had been given a chance to form the Government. "It is their democratic right."

Mr. Brish Bhan, Health Minister in the outgoing Musafir Ministry, said the Congress Party would play the role of Opposition "with responsibility and dignity." "How long the non-Congress Government rules in Punjab will depend on the implementation of the non-Congress parties' declared policies", he added.
Mr. Rajinder Sachar, S.S.P. leader, said the formation of a non-Congress Government in Punjab would be "good for the State morally and economically." He said: "I am very happy that the corrupt Congress Government has been thrown out of power."
There is only one S.S.P member in the United People's Front, which has been invited by the Governor to form the Ministry.
