Umar Akmal was asked by Haroon Rashed (former chief selector) to come for fitness test; he instead went to play in the Caribbean League without informing anyone. Few months later, he was caught misbehaving with his domestic team coach... Are we bold enough to take this step (drop him). I can assure you that sacrificing Umar Akmal will allow us to develop other players who can truly and proudly represent Pakistan.
Afridi poor skipper
We lost to New Zealand, Asia Cup and T20 World Cup due to poor captaincy. On several occasions I had made it clear that Shahid Afridi was not performing with bat, ball or captaining the side well but I was not listened to. Poor tactics cost us the matches. In the meeting held after the NZ T20 series, boys said they felt confused about what the captain was telling them to do.
Self obsessed
He was so fixated on his own performance that he did not execute any game plan or use the right players at the right time. His sudden decisions to change the batting order or field placements did not help the team. He appeared to be under a lot of pressure. The entire team's morale was down because they all felt the pressure from the captain.
