Azad accuses DDCA prez of ticketing scam

Former India cricketer Kirti Azad has alleged that DDCA president Sneh Bansal and vice-president CK Khanna have been making huge money by illegally siphoning off tickets during cricket matches at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground.

In a letter to retired Justice Mukul Mudgal, who has been appointed by the Delhi High Court to oversee the conduct of the last India-South Africa Test beginning December 3, Azad questioned the DDCA’s claim that not more than 10,000 complimentary tickets shall be distributed in any international match as per the court order.

Kirti said the court order was only an interim one during the 2011 World Cup and the DDCA officials were using it for their own interests. Calling the entire process a “big racket”, the former Delhi captain alleged that out of the 10,000 complimentary tickets, 4,300 were distributed among members. However, there was no accounting for the rest of the 5,700 tickets.

To support his claim, Azad produced two letters from GMR, the owners of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils. In the letters, addressed to DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda, GMR CEO Hemant Dua wrote that Bansal collected tickets worth Rs21, 87,800 during the 2014 IPL.
