A Bangladesh newspaper has satirised the Indian cricket team, producing a fake paper cutter advertisement which shows seven Indian cricketers with their heads half-shaven. Young Bangladeshi paceman Mustafizur Rahman, who tormented the Indian players in the ODI series, is shown endorsing a cutter — symbolising his ‘offcutters’ — and the Indian players are holding a banner which reads, ‘We have used it. You can use it too’. MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan and R Ashwin are shown standing with the banner with their heads half-shaven.

Shooters keep the medals coming

Shivam Shukla today won his third gold medal while Akhil Sheoran added a silver as India’s tally rose to an impressive 13 at the ongoing 2nd ISSF Junior Cup shooting tournament in Suhl, Germany. Shukla triumphed in the junior men’s 25m pistol event on Day 4 of the competition. He also added another silver medal to his kitty in the team section of the same event, combining with Arjun Das and Simarjit Singh to shoot a combined score of 1676. Shukla’s tally from the tournament now stands at three gold and two silver medals. Earlier, Sheoran clinched the silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Position. Akhil narrowly lost out on the gold in a shoot-off to Switzerland’s Christoph Duerr. Italy’s Marco Suppini won the bronze medal, finishing with a score of 439.5. Both Christoph and Akhil finished with a score of 454.3, but the Swiss shooter scored 10.4 in the shoot-off to Akhil’s 10.0.

Watson hits back at Wood's bouncer taunt

Shane Watson shrugged off bouncer taunts from England fast bowler Mark Wood and retaliated by issuing his own Ashes warning to the Durham quick. With just over a week until the first Test starts in Cardiff, Wood, on Sunday, recalled how he was instructed to bowl bouncers at Watson by the all-rounder's then Australia teammate Michael Hussey during a net session on the 2009 tour of England. The Durham paceman said Watson had dismissively labelled him a "net hero" and said he "would love to have a go at me". Wood, set to feature in England's side at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens when the first Test gets underway on July 8, added: "Well, he's got his chance now. Let's hope he remembers because he is going to get a few more bumpers." For Watson it was all ancient history. "Up until this morning I couldn't remember it all," Watson said. "It was quite some time ago and I've had quite a few net sessions since then. So it's not something that really stands out." — Agencies
