Chelsea finally lift the Premier League trophy

After a three week wait Chelsea were finally able to lift the Premier League trophy in front of their fans.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho decided not to get too involved in the celebrations this time, instead sitting off to the side as John Terry and teammates lifted the trophy on the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Earlier this week Mourinho admitted that he would keep his winners' medal — rather than throw it in the crowd like he did with the first two - as his 15-year-old son Jose Jr is collecting memorabilia.

“They are enjoying the success and I am happy to be here,” Mourinho said. “If you want to win (again), there may be some fresh blood to put these guys under pressure. Maybe a couple of players will improve the squad —we need that to compete against fantastic opponents.”

Didier Drogba, 37, took the trophy for a lap around the pitch before soaking full-back Cesar Azpilicueta with champagne in the dressing room afterwards.

Didier Drogba was carried off the Chelsea pitch by his team-mates after picking up an injury in his final match at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of kick-off against Sunderland, the Chelsea legend, 37, announced that he would leave the club for the second time in search of more first-team football.

Drogba picked up an injury just half an hour into the game — to be replaced by Diego Costa — but his Chelsea teammates rushed over to carry him off the pitch as Chelsea fans stood to give him a rousing reception. Drogba finishes his two stints at Chelsea with 164 goals in 382 games. He has won 12 trophies, including four Premier League titles, for the club and was voted the club's greatest ever player in a fans' poll in 2012.
