CHANDIGARH: CRPF Jalandhar beat FA Rurka 2-1 to win the Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Stadium in Mahilpur.

CRPF Jalandhar beat FA Rurka 2-1 to win the Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Stadium in Mahilpur. It was Rurka boys who took the lead in the first half but the team succumbed to CRPF’s persistent attacks. CRPF's Sudesh hit the target in the 37th minute to score the equaliser. Achiba scored the winning goal in the dying moments of the play. In the college category, FA Mahilpur clinched the title by defeating FA Paldi 2-1. Mahilpur's Paramjit scored the first goal. Paldi's Gaurav equalised in the first half itself. In the second half, Mahilpur's Umesh scored the second goal which proved out to be the match-decider. In the Under-17 category, FA Baddon beat FA Mahilpur 1-0. Akshay scored the all-important goal.
