Duleep Trophy: India Blue 105/0 on rain-hit Day 1

Greater Noida: Openers Gautam Gambhir and Mayank Agarwal scored half-centuries before rain played spoilsport in the Duleep Trophy match between India Blue and India Red. Only 34.2 overs of play was possible which saw skipper Gambhir (51 no) and Agarwal (53 no) put on 105 runs for the opening wicket. Dilshan says he did not get support during his captaincy 

Retiring Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan has revealed how poorly he felt he was treated during his 10-month tenure as a captain while also criticising current skipper Angelo Mathews for not bowling enough at that time.

The 39-year-old was named skipper after both Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene had resigned from the post in 2011. Dilshan, however, was later eventually replaced by Jayawardene after the South Africa tour. Dilshan, who served as a skipper between April 2011 and January 2012, insisted that he did not received the support of some of his teammates. — Agencies

Ivan Rakitic’s first-half header maintained Barcelona’s 100 percent start to the La Liga season as the champions withstood a wave of late pressure to win 1-0 at Athletic Bilbao.
