The controversy over two factions of the Gymnastics Federation of India (GFI) separately holding sports event under the same name appears to be heading for a resolution. Justice Rameshwar Singh Malik of the High Court has asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) through its general secretary to take all possible remedial measures. For the purpose, Justice Malik has set a three-week deadline. “IOA through its general secretary is directed to take all possible remedial measures at the earliest… IOA shall also impress upon the arbitrator to conclude the arbitration proceedings at an early date,” Justice Malik said.
However, the counsel for IOA pointed out that the situation was covered by GFI’s constitution.
