The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Friday.
After Anurag Thakur became ineligible for the post of HPCA president following the Supreme Court orders earlier this year, HPCA has been administered by a three-member interim committee headed by Arun Dhumal (Anurag’s younger brother), Yudhistir Katoch and RP Singh. HPCA is one of the BCCI state units who have expressed their inability to implement the Lodha Committee reforms. Sources in HPCA said the agenda of the meeting does not include any point regarding the implementation of the Lodha reforms. “It’s a routine affair. There is nothing as such, if the matter is to be discussed, it will be on the spot,” said a senior HPCA official.
HPCA last conducted a Special Annual General Meeting (AGM) in January this year. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh will announce its Ranji Trophy squad on October 4, two days before they take on Punjab in their opening match on October 6. Vikram Rathour, who is HPCA’s Director, Cricket Operations, will be the team coach.
Reshi barred
Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will select its Ranji Trophy squad from a list of 30 probables shortly. Opener Adil Reshi has been barred from the four-day format for this season due to disciplinary issues. Reshi reportedly had an altercation with the team trainer before the start of the Ranji Trophy camp. J&K are in Group B and will play their first match against Rajasthan in Jaipur from October 6.
