The Indian women stormed into the finals of the Fed Cup (Group-II) Asia-Oceania tennis tournament here today following another one-sided 2-0 victory over Turkmenistan. India's Ankita Raina and Prarthana G Thombare beat their respective rivals in the singles. Thombare defeated Jahana Bayramova 6-0 6-2, while Raina thrashed Anastafiya Prenko 6-1 6-2 in the second singles.

SIT assisting IPL probe panel gets new look
The Supreme Court today reconstituted the special investigation team (SIT) probing the allegations of betting and fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), particularly against IPL Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sundar Raman. A Bench comprising Justices TS Thakur and FMI Kalifulla appointed Vivek Priyadarshi, a Superintendent of Police with the CBI, as the head of the SIT which is assisting a panel of judges - former Chief Justice of India RM Lodha and retired Supreme Court judges Ashok Bhan and RV Raveendran.

Ghosal gets the better of World No.7, again
India's top male squash player Saurav Ghosal upstaged World No.7 Tarek Momen for the second successive time this month to enter the quarterfinals at the PSA Grasshopper Cup here. There was less drama as compared to their last contest in Egypt earlier this month as 23-ranked Ghosal got past Momen 11-9 4-11 11-4 11-6 in an opening round match. He had beaten the Egyptian in five grueling games at El Gouna.

Usain bolt says the prospect of a landmark "triple-triple" is a motivating force as he prepares for his final Olympic Games in Rio next year. The Jaimaican sprint legend will be aiming to repeat his 100 metre, 200m and 4x100m triumphs at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games. "That's one of the reasons I’m so excited," said Bolt. “It’s going to be a big goal for me, so I need to use this season to make sure I'm on track to get here next year. The season is going well so far so I am happy and excited."
