NEW DELHI: Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was handed a one-match ban on Friday over a double foul-mouthed outburst during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was handed a one-match ban on Friday over a double foul-mouthed outburst during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Shakib was found guilty of uttering abusive language after dismissing Sylhet Super Stars batsman Dilshan Munaweera on Thursday. He was also found guilty of abusing an umpire too.

India-Pak series: Shukla hopeful of government nod  

Even as the BCCI awaits clearance from the government on a short series with Pakistan, IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla on Friday reiterated his demand that the bilateral cricket ties be resumed between the two nations. “I am hopeful that the government will give the go-ahead. Both the boards have agreed on Sri Lanka as the venue,” said Shukla. His response came after MEA informed that no decision has been taken yet on the India-Pakistan series.  — Agencies
