London Olympics bronze medallist and Rajya Sabha member MC Mary Kom today said she was preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Games and would hang her gloves only after getting beaten by young pugilists.

“I am feeling great at this point in time and looking forward to the 2020 Games. However, I will quit the sport when I get beaten by young boxers,” the 33-year-old told reporters here today.

The Manipur boxer, who was here to attend an event of the National Boxing Academy (NBA), said she had already set up a boxing academy in her native state and planned to train budding boxers for the country.

“I am waiting for the Prime Minister to come and inaugurate it (academy),” she said.

She said Haryana youth had vast potential and could be groomed into boxing champions, and the NBA could play an instrumental role in the process.
