Mehak, Khushi in taekwondo semifinals

CHANDIGARH:City girls Mehak and Khushi won their respective bouts in the 32kg category to enter the semifinals on the opening day of the inaugural National Women Taekwondo Championship at New Public School, Sector 18, here today.

Chandigarh, January 14  

City girls Mehak and Khushi won their respective bouts in the 32kg category to enter the semifinals on the opening day of the inaugural National Women Taekwondo Championship at New Public School, Sector 18, here today.  

Mehak defeated Aarushi, while Khushi overpowered Aanya. Uttrakhand’s Mehak Bisht and Varsha Sharma of Haryana were the other two athletes in the group to move to the semis. 

In the 34kg category, Ishu of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh's Annu, Rajastahn's Anisha and Anjali of Orrisa entered the semifinal.

Aarti of West Bengal and Delhi's Nidhi Paande advanced to the 57kg category semifinals. — TNS
