P’kula, Kurukshetra teams log victory in T-20 c’ship

CHANDIGARH: Pradeep Kanwar 38-ball 61 helped Panchkula Kings win their second consecutive match, beating Gurugram Gladiators by six wickets in the Haryana Swaran Jayanti T-20 League at the Sector 16 cricket stadium here today.

Pradeep Kanwar 38-ball 61 helped Panchkula Kings win their second consecutive match, beating Gurugram Gladiators by six wickets in the Haryana Swaran Jayanti T-20 League at the Sector 16 cricket stadium here today. Chasing a modest total of 157 runs, Panchkula Kings achieved the target in 18.2 overs. Kanwar’s inning was studded with six sixes and three boundaries. He was supported by Rupesh Rathi (34), Rahul Khattar (25) and Gaurav Singh (22). For Gurugram, Vikas Uchitra claimed 2/34, Aman Bharti grabbed 1/22 and Bhagminder took 1/23. Earlier, after electing to bat first, Gurugram posted 157/6 in 20 overs. Vishal Thind (51 off 29 balls with seven sixes and two fours) and Ankhush Dhariwal (47 off 40 balls with six fours and a six) were the main scorers for the side. 

For Panchkula, Saurav claimed 3/18, while Rupesh Rathi returned figures of 2/14. In the second match, Kurukshetra Tigers defeated Rohtak Blasters by 22 runs. After electing to bat first, Tigers scored 172 runs. Pardeep Yadav (39), Rahul Choudhary(20), Deepak Sangwan (22) and Rahul Choudhary (21) all chipped in with crucial contributions. For the bowling side, Mohit Singh claimed three wickets for 24 runs, Somvir claimed 2/21, Kuldeep Claimed got 2/32. In reply, Blasters were bowled out for 150 with Nawansh Aggarwal (38) and Anit Kumar (27) scoring the major share. For the bowling side, Anesh Ahmed took 3/14 while Amit claimed two wickets.
