Punjabi turned Bihari!

In Mohit Suri’s upcoming film Half Girfriend, Arjun Kapoor is playing the character of a Bihari boy named Madhav Jha. In the trailer of the film, Arjun is seen reading author Chetan Bhagat’s novel Half Girlfriend in Bihari accent. He is seen talking about Riya Somani, played by Shraddha Kapoor, telling everybody that she wants to be Madhav’s half girlfriend. At the end, the star innocently asks, “Ee batao ye half girlfriend kya hota hai?” in thick Bihari accent.

Being a Punjabi, it must have been difficult for Arjun to adapt a new language and its accent. Arjun elaborates, “Being a Punjabi, I had no bearing on it thankfully. I wanted to be sincere and ensure that it does not look clichéd or like a caricature. Mohit was clear that Madhav’s Hindi has to be impeccable. It was an exciting challenge as an actor.” Well, we are sure Arjun will do full justice to his character!
