A Temperance Hall at Pathankot

FOLLOWING the excellent example of Amritsar, where a splendid and commodious hall has already been erected, Pathankot has set its heart upon supplying the town with a suitable Temperance Hall. Work started on the 17th July in a large and representative gathering of all classes and creeds under noble auspices. Mr. Watson, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur District who has already done much to encourage the cause, occupied the chair, and expressed his gratification at the splendid work of social uplift and temperance carried on by Miss Campbell which was lately recognised by Government by the bestowal of the richly deserved Kaiser-i-Hind medal.
