Rai Bahadur Kunj Behari Thapar of Lahore has brought out, under the auspices of the Punjab War News Association, an adaptation into Urdu of the excellent booklet entitled "British and Turkey: Causes of the Rupture" by Sir Edward Cook, the eminent London Journalist. It is based on the diplomatic correspondence recently published both here and in Great Britain. The pamphlet deals with the causes that have led to the war between Great Britain and Turkey; shows what the Turko-British war means; deals with the complaints or grievances of the Turks; sets forth the premises made and the assurances given by Britain in case the Turks remained neutral; refers to the Turkish assurances of neutrality and their disregard; states how in utter disregard to these promises the Dardanelles were closed and a German cantonment was allowed to be established in Constantinople; sets forth the patience and resignation with which the British Government treated the Turks when they were merely trifling with it.
