Certificates of origin for imports



THE following press communique has been issued in the Department of Commerce and Industry: “With reference to the Notification in the Department of Commerce and Industry, No. 1669.W., dated the 9th December, 1914, which prohibited the bringing into British India of all goods from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Switzerland and Italy unless accompanied by Certificate of Origin in the form annexed to the Notification, the Government of India will require that these certificates shall, after the expiry of two calendar months from this date, be furnished, in respect of all goods brought by sea into British India, whether they are transshipped there or carried forward in the same bottom to a foreign port or landed for Indian consumption.”
