THE splendid example set by the Bengal Scientific and Industrial Association in sending large batches of students to foreign countries for various technical studies, has been readily followed in some of our advanced Native States. The Mysore State offered more than a dozen scholarships to young men. The conditions are very liberal and the choice excellent. Now, Travancore State authorities have announced the grant of Rs. 15,000 annually for the next five years to young men of the State who would go to foreign countries for technical training. One condition of the grant of scholarships is the return by the scholar of half the amount after his employment by easy installments.
