We have lately referred to the dissatisfaction among the Hindu community regarding the Ganges Canal works at Hardwar, which has found expression in the numerous meetings of protest held in every important town in the Punjab. In view of His Excellency the Viceroy’s visit , the Punjab Hindu Sabha has done well to submit the following telegraphic representation to His Excellency:-- “Punjab Hindu Sabha respectfully invites His Excellency’s attention to the acute feeling that prevails throughout the province regarding canal head works at Har-ki-Pauri and prays that effect be given in all details to assurances given by Lieutenant-Governor, United Provinces, to conference of leading Hindus held at Hardwar in 1914. Sabha fervently hopes that religious susceptibilities of Hindus will be given due consideration in the matter.”
