Local Self-Government

ON another page will be found the text of an important Resolution which the Government of India have just issue on the subject of Local Self-Government. We have said it would have been better for Government not to have issued this Resolution until the publication of the larger scheme of reforms. In that opinion we are confirmed by a perusal of the Resolution marks a distinct advance upon the existing state of things will be readily admitted, but surely it is not the sort of thing which the public have been expecting and which can satisfy them at a time when they have been asking for full and complete autonomy in local affairs.
