No Luxuries During the War.

A FEW days ago His Excellency the Governor of Bombay announced that he would cut down his household expenditure, especially of a luxurious character, because during the war every possible source of economy should be tried and the money saved.

A FEW days ago His Excellency the Governor of Bombay announced that he would cut down his household expenditure, especially of a luxurious character, because during the war every possible source of economy should be tried and the money saved. With this view all will agree and we hope that a list of luxuries will be made, including the use of motor cars, and public expenditure cut down as far as possible. Private expenditure may also be cut down in order to subscribe to the war fund. We are glad to find Lord Ronaldshay has begun a similar campaign at the Government House, Calcutta. He has stated he would cut down luxuries such as champagne and other wines as he did not propose to offer to his friends such luxuries.
