THE date sheet of the Matriculation examination of 1915, which has just been issued, makes a novel change in the order of the papers to be set. According to the Regulations for this examination two papers have to be taken by the candidate each day, morning and evening 7 to 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. Under the system hitherto in vogue a candidate had to take both these papers in the same subjects during a particular day, and having done with it he passed on to the next subject. But the new system introduces this distinction that all mornings shall be devoted to compulsory subjects while the afternoons are left for optional subjects.
