Women Medical Students

The Lady Hardinge Medical College for Women at Delhi promises to become an important centre of medical education for women in India. Already a large number of applications have been received. This is the first college established in India with public subscriptions and under Government auspices exclusively for women. Till now a few women attended medical colleges for men. The necessity for colleges for women is being slowly recognised and when these are established, progress would be rapid. Edinburgh University Court has decided to admit women medical students to classes of the medical faculty. Co-education in England is hardly likely to be popular, and its advocacy in India by some educationists is quite unreasonable.
