There are reasons why summer shopping is better than winter shopping. You are at a liberty to pick colours, fabrics and silhouettes. The latter part of the year certainly doesn’t let you experiment as much, extravagance strictly means layering up to feel warm. Summer makes you cut down on layers in style, it spoils you with choices — an upper can be a tube, an off-shoulder, a kurti, a tee... lowers can have varying lengths.... So, even when you think your wardrobe has it all for the next five months, here’s tempting you to shop, a bit more. Just get it right.

Naked shoulders: Off-shoulder tops and dresses are an investment this season. A casual wear, resort staple, party pick, an off-shoulder top or dress can serve multiple purposes. Pair it with shorts, high-waist skirt or faded jeans.

Floaty slip dress: Dresses are what we look forward to wear every summer. How about a floaty slip dress in a pastel colour? Pastels always find their way into our wardrobes at this time of year. Nothing can beat a slip dress in pastel colour this summer.

Sporty chic: Strategically mix the active wear with all things fashionable. Wear a smart T-shirt with old denims or dresses that you haven’t worn in ages. A sporty summer jacket on top of your black dress is the ultimate way to up your style quotient.

Roman sandals: Comfortable, breathable, and trendy, Roman sandals are an essential this season. These go well with any ensemble.
