Rein in your beauty problems in rains

THE monsoon often have an adverse effect on the skin and hair, leaving it too itchy and simply sticky, respectively. Excessive moisture in the air cannot just dampen spirits but also bring with it many skin and hair problems. You need to take extra care in this humid weather so that you can enjoy the rains rather than cribbing about how sticky your face feels or how fungal infection has got the better of you. Here are some tips for you to ensure that the weather will not take a toll on you.

Avoid fungal infection

Staying fungal-free this monsoon is essential. Getting wet in the rain tends to bring along an irritable and itchy feeling that can lead to a fungal infection. Cases of fungal infection are most common in this weather, especially among those who go swimming. It can even be caused by a fellow swimmer who does not take care of personal hygiene. Many may not bother about it until it’s too late. The best way to stay away from the itchy infection is to have regular baths and use clean towels. For the face, it’s a must that you use a soap-free cleanser. If you do find a cleanser with alpha hydroxyl acid, then use it once in the day to liven up your skin. Make sure you do not use too much of make-up, avoid it as much as you can. In addition to this, always use a sunscreen lotion, even if the sky is cloudy. Once you are back home, use a face wash to rinse off the dirt. And if you did use make-up, then its best to wipe your face with a make-up remover and use a toner to sooth the skin. Often the skin becomes sensitive with change in the weather so irrespective of monsoon or a cold wave or a heat wave, do make sure you always see to your skin and keep it nourished.

Happy feet

Do not neglect your feet during the heavy rains and the muddy puddles you may walk through.  To keep your feet safe, wash your feet each time you come home from outside. Whenever you take a bath, use a good foot scrub to clean your feet. Follow it up with a foot cream. Take extra care while wiping your feet since humidity can cause fungal infection. Take the towel and rub your feet dry between the toes so that there isn’t moisture left between the toes.

Mane maintenance

Hair can become frizzy and even start falling off in tufts due to the weather changes during the monsoon. Invest in a good volume-enhancing shampoo since humidity can leave the hair greasy. Also, do not tie wet hair as this could cause fungal infection on the scalp. Once a week oil your hair and massage your scalp so that your hair isn’t dry. This will help in reducing hair-fall and split-ends.

The monsoon brings a strange instability in the skin making it look even stranger. You need to be careful with this tricky weather and make the most out of it. Having a diet rich in vitamin E will be beneficial for your skin and hair. Include fruits, omega 3 enriched foods and a handful of essential nuts in your diet so that you are nourished from within as well.
