The search team found 19 more human skeletons on the Kedarnath trekking route on Tuesday, an official said. This takes the number of skeletons found in the past 10 days to 52.
The team of the State Disaster Relief Force consigned the mortal remains to flames on the banks of the Soneprayag. Their DNA samples were taken.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat had ordered serach operations after some skeletons were found on the Kedarnath trekking route. These skeletal remains are believed to be of those who had perished in flash floods of 2013. Search operations are underway between Garudchatti and Devvishnu, the official said.
The second phase of search operations would be launched on November 2, added the official.—IANS
