Bangladesh Army Chief to review IMA parade on Dec 9

DEHRADUN: The Chief of the Army staff of Bangladesh will be the reviewing officer for December 9 passing out parade at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

The Chief of the Army staff of Bangladesh will be the reviewing officer for December 9 passing out parade at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

Bangladesh Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq will review the parade at the academy’s fabled drill square in the backdrop of the historic Chetwode building where over 500 Gentlemen Cadets will bid adieu to the academy. 

Chiefs of the Army and heads of the SAARC nations have been reviewing officers at the Indian Military Academy’s passing out parades.  Then Sri Lankan Army Chief Lt Gen Jagath Jaisurya reviewed December 2011 passing out parade at the IMA. Similarly, in June 2014 passing out parade at the IMA, then Nepalese Army Chief SD Gaurav Shumsher Rana was the reviewing officer. Further in December 2014 Indian Military Academy’s passing out parade, Afghan Army Chief General Sher Mohammad Karimi was the reviewing officer. 

So now Bangladesh Army Chief General’s wife Shoma Huq will also accompany him. 

Bangladesh Army Chief General comes from Armoured Corps and took over as the Bangladesh Army Chief in June 2015. He has been awarded the Sword of Honour when he passed out from the Bangladesh Military Academy. Cadets from nieghbouring countries Bhutan, Afghanistan, Nepal among others have been coming to the IMA for the training.


Who reviews parades

Similarly, in June 2014 then Nepalese Army Chief SD Gaurav Shumsher Rana was the reviewing officer.
