Haridwar, January 20

BJP district organisation president Suresh Rathore today claimed that the party would win the Haridwar city, Haridwar rural, Ranipur, Jwalapur and Lakshar Assembly seats that had been the BJP strongholds. Party workers were being assigned polling booth and campaign duties.

“The BJP is way ahead in election campaigning as it has already announced its candidates. People are impressed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s able leadership. Now, they have realised the need to bring the BJP to power in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab as well,” said Rathore while speaking with mediapersons at the Devpura city office here.

He urged party workers to reach out to voters to cash in on the pro-BJP wave sweeping in the state. However, they still need to apprise people about development works done by the BJP-led Central government and its governments in other states, he added.

Rathore, who had been the national vice-president of the party’s SC wing, said there was no threat of dissidence post-ticket allocation. “There is no such situation in all Assembly segments falling under his purview in capacity as the district president,” he added.

He criticised the state government for allegedly promoting liquor, illegal quarrying and the timber mafia.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat was caught on camera while indulging in horsetrading of legislators and people didn’t expect anything from him. He should have resigned on moral ground. Now, voters would teach him a lesson on February 15.
